Michigan’s must sees

Having fun at Lake Michigan Beach (morgueFile photo / Rodney Campbell)

I’m still working on this list, and suspect that I won’t finish it for quite a while yet. But here are three to get going:

Ann Arbor:  Eventually, this college town will receive its own page. For now, let me say go and explore Kerrytown, Main Street and stop by Nicola’s Books, Crazy Wisdom and the Tea Haus (just three of my favorite independent shops). Be sure to review the Ann Arbor Observer’s calendar for a wide array of cultural and other events.

Lake Michigan coastline:   So many great small towns along here, and beaches and blueberries in summertime. More suggestions coming soon!

Traverse City:  It’s a lively place with great restaurants, lots of culture and creative types, small inns and sweet shops- and very near the wineries  all along Leelenau Peninsula. Take time to trek over to Grocer’s Daughter Chocolates and fortify yourself to climb Sleeping Bear Dunes.
